29 Packaged Food Products Received MUI Halal Certification

A total of 29 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) who are partners of Olsabara, Komunitas Tangan Diatas (TDA), and a companion of Tangguh UKM, get halal certification from the Indonesian Ulama Council (MUI) of East Kalimantan.

The halal certificate was obtained after the SMEs packaged food received training from the MUI at Wisma Rayah, some time ago. After the training, the MUI immediately verified the field, looking at the production processes of SMEs. After everything is free of material containing illicit elements, MUI gives a halal label to the packaging of these UKM actors.

Head of the East Kutai Cooperative and UKM Office, Drs Husaini MSi, expressed his gratitude to KPC for its support for SMEs in East Kutai. “Thank you to KPC, who never wants to be satisfied with what already exists, but continues to innovate so that our SMEs are able to compete with other regions,” Husaini said.

Head of LPPOM MUI of East Kalimantan Indonesian, H Sumarsongko, said, halal certification is an absolute requirement for food products circulating in the community. “Halal certification is now an absolute requirement for products, especially food circulating in the community. This is to protect consumers from material that contains haram. Thank you to KPC, so that a number of UKM were facilitated to get halal certification, “Sumarsongko said.

Genta Gantina, Superintendent Local Business Development (LBD) said that the halal certification was one of KPC’s efforts to produce SMEs who were able to compete in the market. “We are collaborating with MUI East Kalimantan to hold a halal certification training for 29 SMEs in Sangatta.
